Start with a conversation

Let’s start with an introduction. No pitch and no commitment. Bring the question that is bothering you and we will look at it together. If the answer is that you need a controller rather than a CFO, or that this can wait six months, that is what you will hear.

Where we are. Numminen Advisory is based in Helsinki, Finland, and works with companies across Europe. Engagements run remotely with meetings in person where they are worth the travel.

Operating language. The work runs in English.

What happens next

Three steps, and the first two are quick.

First

A reply within one working day,

with two or three times for a call.

Second

The call itself,

fifteen to forty-five minutes, on what is unclear, what is urgent, and whether senior finance support is the right answer at all.

Third

A short written note afterwards

setting out what we heard and what we would suggest doing first, whether or not that involves us.

Common questions

What happens on the call?

Questions, mostly ours. What the company does, how the finance function is arranged now, what is coming in the next twelve months, and what specifically prompted you to get in touch.

Will you send a proposal afterwards?

Only if there is something to propose. Otherwise you get a short note with what we would do first, and no follow-up sequence.

We are not sure we need a CFO yet.

That is a good reason to have the call rather than a reason to skip it. A meaningful share of these conversations end with a recommendation to hire a controller, brief the accounting firm better, or wait.
